  • Asia Divers offers the ideal location to ‘just give it a go’
  • If you are short of time and just want to try it, Discover Scuba Diving is for you
  • After a short briefing you’ll get comfortable with the gear and the basics of diving in the comfort and safety of one of our training pools under the watchful eye of an experienced Instructor
  • You’ll then enjoy a great dive at one of Puerto Galera’s unrivaled sites, your Instructor will never be far away as you’re introduced to a wonderful new world
  • You’re allowed to dive for up to two weeks after the initial experience (follow up dives), these dives are US$35 each
  • You can (at your Instructors discretion) credit the pool and open water dive towards either full certification or the PADI Scuba Diver certification. (The credit is worth one pool dive and one open water dive - US$20 at Asia Divers )
  • Take anyone of you’re underwater adventures home on video for only $50

    Anyone who doesn’t have time or is not ready for full certification can earn the ‘Scuba Diver’ certification by completing part of the Open Water Diver Course.
  • This qualifies you to dive under the in-water supervision of a PADI Divemaster or Instructor within the limits you learn.
  • If you’ve completed a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience within the last year you may already be half way there!
  • There’s nowhere better to complete the three knowledge sessions & pool dives and two open water dives than at Asia Divers.
  • You can (at your Instructors discretion) credit this towards full certification. (worth US$ 140 at Asia Divers)

  • Full certification, internationally recognized. The PADI Open Water Diver Course takes you through the adventure of learning to dive. If you think you’re in for a lot of classroom work – forget it. After a short briefing you can actually begin with your first pool dive and then straight in to the ocean – utilizing independent study and PADI’s latest teaching aids we’ll keep classroom time to a minimum
  • You couldn’t ask for anywhere better to learn to dive. You’ll be in the hands of capable, experienced instructors who have access to three fully equipped classrooms and two swimming pools
  • On the FOUR open water dives you’ll interact with some of the most diverse and unusual marine life seen anywhere in the world. Apart from mastering diving skills your instructor will make sure you learn something about the environment you’re in
  • Beach and boat diving you’ll visit four of our fantastic dive sites and get to see anemone’s & clown fish, shrimp fish, starfish, trigger fish, flat fish, maybe a turtle & much more as well as maybe diving one of the several wooden wrecks here. And this is just the beginning

To earn a National Geographic Diver certification, an individual must:
  1. Complete all knowledge development, confined water, and open water performance requirements contained in the PADI Open Water Diver course or already hold a PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or higher level PADI certification.
  2. Complete the National Geographic Knowledge Review based on information gained from the National Geographic Diver Almanac and DVD.
  3. During an open water dive, demonstrate the ability to hover in these three positions: horizontal, feet slightly elevated, and head slightly elevated.
  4. During an open water dive, complete the Exploration Project that includes gathering information and/or images and creating a visual representation of the dive site detailing specific features. This may result in a sketch, diagram, graph, photo-essay, or video
  5. During an open water dive, complete one of the following: a. Navigate a square or rectangular pattern using both compass headings and natural references to return to the starting point.
Locate and identify by name at least two aquatic plants (one for freshwater), four aquatic invertebrate animals (one for freshwater), and five aquatic vertebrate animals (two for freshwater).

  • There are two ways that individuals can become National Geographic Divers. At PADI National Geographic Dive Centers, people who do not already have a diver Certification may enroll in the National Geographic Diver program. This program covers all the knowledge and skills from the PADI Open Water Diver course plus the additional information and requirements for National Geographic Diver certification.
