Situated on the island of Mindoro our resort is just 50 miles South of Manila and away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and is ideal for a romantic diving honeymoon.
Here you can experience the mystery of the orient, whilst living in the lap of luxury for a lot less cost than you might imagine. If we tell you that a waitress in the Philippines can expect to work for less than $1 an hour you will get a rough idea as to how far your budget will go.
We are not for one moment suggesting exploitation of waitresses or anyone else, but it does suggest why the Philippinos love to welcome tourists and their money.
Here at El Galleon resort, 50 meters from your room you can dip your toe in the warm waters of the Philippines sea. Water that is 25 - 27C all year round and where the underwater visibility is Normally 30 - 40 meters.

The El Galleon resort is famous throughout Asia as a diving honeymoon resort. We love to welcome honeymoon couples. So much so that if you let us know this is your honeymoon when you book, not only will we make sure our staff will go the extra mile for you but on a night of your choosing you will receive a very special complimentary dinner.

When you are here, you will be introduced to our head chef who will discuss the creation of a romantic dinner just for you. Then at the appointed time you will be lead to a candlelit secluded table adjacent to the beach, away from prying eyes where your exclusive waitress will serve you the romantic meal of your choice together with a bottle of wine and suitable music. You can even bring your own CD if you wish.
At the end of your meal local guitarists will serenade you, but that is totally optional.

The El Galleon resort looks out over the Verde Island Passage where high levels of both oxygen and nutrients are brought in from the Pacific. The results is that here we actually have more varieties of fish and marine life than almost anywhere in the world.
To say that our corals are beautiful would understating matters, suffice to say that approximately a thousand different varieties of soft and hard corals have been catalogued.
Not surprisingly then the Philippine Government has mad the entire area round our resort in Puerto Galera a Marine Reserve.
Other things you might care to do during your diving honeymoon here.
No matter how much you love to dive, you are undoubtedly going to spend a lot more time out of the water than in it.
Literally 5 minutes walk along a tropical beach from the resort is the small town of Sabang. Here you will find countless restaurants serving food for every palate as well as numerous bars. Live entertainment. Then there are discos, cafes and the list goes on.

Puerto Galera where we are, was originally given the name by the Spanish hundreds of years ago and actually means 'Port of Galleys'. This is where Spanish fleets would load the gold and treasure to take home and many artefacts of those times exist both above and below the water.
