Turn on a TV and you could be forgiven for thinking that the only thing that happens in the Philippines is sex, but that is far from the whole story.

Some of the most beautiful holiday resorts in the world are here and we like to think that El Galleon is the jewel in the crown, so let us tell you why.

The cost.

Firstly your Philippines holiday is likely to give you a lot more for your money than you might imagine.   The average daily wage here is still around $7.5 US a day. Typically a waitress in the Philippines makes less than $1 an hour.

The climate.

We have a wonderful climate with just two seasons.  Wet and Dry and even that the gods saw fit to mitigate that for us, so even in the Wet season that goes from April to October, the vast majority of rainfall is at night.

The Philippino people.

Philippinos are noted throughout the world for their warm and friendly disposition and after a few hours of being here you can see why.  For a friend or a guest and we hope you will leave us as both, nothing is ever too much trouble.

The sport.

There are many sports and activities you can enjoy here in the Philippines but by far the most popular is snorkeling and diving.   A survey conducted recently showed that once someone has dived in the Philippines he or she will return an average of ten times.

The reasons are not difficult to understand.  You can dive here all year round in water that never goes below 25C nor above 27C regardless of the time of year.

Like to snorkel or dive in water where the water gives viability of 30 to 40 meters as the norm?  Then come and experiance the Philippines.

We actually have more varieties of soft and hard corals here at our resort than the great Barrier Reef and more varieties of fish than in the entire Red Sea.

We are bang in the middle of a protected fish resort.  Some twenty years ago the Philippines recognized that the area of Puerto Galera is unique in it's scenery and marine life and declared the entire area around our holiday resort a protected fish reserve.

The Pacific current that flows between us and an island called Verde Island brings bountiful nutrients which is one of the main reasons for the abundance of marine life here. Verde Island

This is our diving operation and forms part of our holiday resort. Whether you are a snorkeler who would like to learn to dive or a qualified diver we have the course for you.  Not only for you but for the whole family if you wish.

The Bubblemakers course is a children's introductory course to our sport and is suitable for 8 year olds and up, whilst the Open Water course is available for 10 year olds and up.

Maybe you are an experienced diver?

We have every imaginable kind of diving here and you can train to use a variety of gas mixes to dive with.Air, Nitrox, Trimix or re-breathers.

Nitrox puts more oxygen in the mix which greatly extends bottom time in shallower dives.

Trimix. One of the more recently created gas mixtures which allows dives of around 100 meters, so don't forget to bring a torch.
