Some of the main reasons that so many people decide to have holidays in the Philippines are easy.
The climate being one of the big things. Here we have just two seasons. Wet and Dry. Which means our Summer is six months long. You could be forgiven for thinking that it rains for the other six months, but most of the rain comes at night, so people holiday here all year round.
Cost is another reason for coming here. The average wage in the Philippines is about $3 a day so your holiday budget is likely to get you a lot more than you might think. Wage information
Our Philippines holiday resort called El Galleon is about 60 miles to the South of Manila on the island of Oriental Mindoro and specializes in family holidays.

A little advice if it's your first holidays in the Philippines.
When you arrive in Manila you will find begging children everywhere. If you do what your heart tells you and give them money two things will happen. Firstly the number of children round you will double in the blink of an eye More importantly though you are helping to wreck children's lives.
It is true that Philippines are poor as a nation but giving children money just encourages their parents to send them out to beg. If tourists would stop giving these children money their moms and dads wouldn't send them onto the streets.
Money changing in the Philippines.
Be careful. Be very, very careful. Money changers are everywhere and some will offer you exchange rates that you can scarcely believe.
Large numbers of so called money changers are outright crooks and they know a lot more about money changing than you do.
Change money only in places your hotel advises or change it at the airport as you exit customs or a legitimate bank. The rate may be a fraction less but you will get what you paid for and we would hate your holiday to be spoiled as has happened to so many of us.
Travel Light to holidays in the Philippines..
There is virtually nothing you can't buy here. Seasoned travelers coming to the Philippines bring just hand luggage.
In Puerto Galera virtually everyone lives in T shirts and either shorts or slacks.
Everything else you can either buy or hire, from a set of golf clubs to scuba diving equipment.
