Philippines vacations.

They come in every imaginable flavor.  Indeed the variations in the Philippines you would expect to find in a small continent, not just one country.

The Philippines is made up of thousands of islands and estimates as to the actual number of islands vary between about seven thousand and twenty thousand depending on who counted.

Then there are quiet, laid back beach resorts, diving resorts.  Whatever your idea of a vacation might be you are sure to find it in the Philippines.

Diving. Our water is a steady 25 to 27C all year round.  Under water visibility is normally in the order of 40 meters and we are in the middle of a fish reserve created by the government some 20 years ago.

Our resort is right on the beach and was created for families who have an interest in diving.  Things do not stop there though. All at prices that will surprise you if you never came here before. Wages are low, with a typical trained waitress earning less than $1 an hour in 2010. Which will give you some idea of how far your money will go in the Philippines.

How to get to our resort.

We are situated just 60 miles to the south of Manila on the North East coast of the island of Oriental Mindoro.

There are no shortage of airlines now flying to Manila since the 90s as we have gained in popularity as a holiday hot spot.

Once you arrive in Manila you may care to spend the night there before heading down to Puerto Galera the next day.  A nice hotel in Manila will cost you around $50 to $100 depending on the degree of luxury you seek and some small hotels are much cheaper than that. Hotels here are much cheaper than in the Western World and for the cost of a small motel room at home you can wallow in luxury.

You can get down to Puerto Galera the next day a number of different ways. Air conditioned buses leave each morning for the port of Batangas where you board a small ship for a 45 minute journey to Puerto Galera and if we know you are coming we will collect you from the boat.

You may care to escape the crowds and get a taxi to Batangas which costs around $50 and get a boat in your own good time or you can even get a small sea-plane from  Manila straight to us, which takes just 40 minutes from take off.  Call the hotel and we will give you full details.

Unlike so many resorts, our diving operation is a large part of the resort. Within 5 to 10 minutes boat ride from the resort you can enjoy every possible type of diving. We run all the PADI courses and are one of only two Philippine schools qualified to train to Instructor level.
