Description

The Ellipse uses an elliptical housing for the second-stage regulator, which is made from hi-tech polymers. All the internal components of the Ellipse Regulator are a dependable high performance downstream valve design. Once the valve has open the air is channeled by injection to the liquid silicone mouthpiece creating a venturi-effect enhancing the performance. On the top of the housing there is a flow deviator that acts on the Venturi effect, with dive/pre-dive switch.

The Balanced 1st stage MC5 Hyper-balanced Diaphragm Actuated 1st stage has a lightweight body covered by a protective techno-polymer elastomer shell. The regulator is equipped with four low pressure and two high pressure ports. Internally the 1st stage is coated with an anti-friction anti-corrosion material that reduces resistance and allows the critical components to move freely. This makes the components perform and last longer between annual servicing and increases performance. Research on internal air passages and incorporating a special assist chamber has lowered the drop of intermediate pressure upon inhalation and has kept this drop at a minimum, guaranteeing higher performance in any situation. Hyper-balancing allows for an increase of the intermediate pressure at maximum depths and when experiencing low pressure in the Scuba cylinder, offering higher performance at maximum depths and during the ascent phase of the dive.

The Ellipse octopus uses the same elliptical housing as the Ellipse model second-stage regulator, which is made from hi-tech polymers. The octopus model has a bright yellow purge cover and hose for easy identification in an out of air emergency. The octopus hose is 39” (100 cm) in length.

All the internal components of the Ellipse octopus are the same as those found in the standard Ellipse; making periodic service parts the same as the primary regulator. Although the initial opening effort of the octopus regulator is set slightly higher than the primary Ellipse, once the valve has open the air is channeled by injection to the liquid silicone mouthpiece creating a venturi-effect enhancing the performance. On the top of the housing there is a flow deviator that acts on the Venturi effect, with dive/pre-dive switch.

The Ellipse octopus is factory set to work with a supply pressure between 130 to 145 psi (9 to 10 bars) and will work well with Cressi first-stage regulators and any other manufacture with similar first-stage supply (intermediate) pressures.

The user can adjust both the inhalation effort and the Venturi effect (dive / pre-dive) at any time during the dive.

Technical Features

2nd stage Ellipse Balanced Many of the exclusive technical characteristics of Ellipse, covered by 4 international patents, have been transferred to this new second stage. Ellipse Balanced has a slightly larger casing which is made from a sound absorbing material, and a new diaphragm that further improves the already very low inhalation effort of Ellipse. The weight is very low (the lightest in the category). The pneumatic balancing system of the piston allows for constant performance at any depth and with any air pressure in the tanks. An easy grip knob allows for the instant adjustment of the inhalation effort, even when wearing gloves, thus regulating it as first regulator or as spare regulator depending on the preferences of the user and the required use. The regulation system is protected by a double seal and is fully protected from contact with water, thus maintaining smooth rotation even over time. A small lever, located in the upper part of the casing, acts as a flow deviator and allows the Venturi effect to be adjusted. When placed in position (-) it functions as pre-dive, for getting into the water and the first stages of the dive, whilst when moved to (+) it allows the regulator to develop its maximum performance. An internal heat exchanger optimises the performance of the regulator even in cold waters. The special study of air flows inside the casing has meant that absolutely natural, smooth and very silent breathing has been obtained. The standard release baffle can be directly replaced by the user for a larger model, supplied as standard, which pushes the bubbles further way from the diver’s face. The possibility of quickly removing the entire mechanical part from the casing significantly aids maintenance operations.

The AC10 1st stage is the latest version of the Cressi balanced piston model, manufactured for many years and highly appreciated for its exceptionally durable and reliable characteristics.

Technical Features:

The 1st stage is the renowned Cressi AC10 balanced piston model. It can be supplied with international yoke or with 200 or 300 bar DIN connections.

This balanced piston first stage means performance remains constant, irrespective of depth and pressure from the tanks. With the continuous reviews and improvements over the years all the air passages inside the first stage have been completely redesigned and considerably increased so as to give the excellent performance that AC10 offers today.

Alongside this excellent performance, the AC10 boasts simple mechanics, resistance to wear and tear and requires so little upkeep that it has become a product with legendary reliability.

It has some 5 low-pressure ports located right around a swivel head, which guarantees rational hose positioning on any valve.

The XS octopus is a lightweight, high performance second stage regulator. The XS has a venturi switch, which will help control the sensitivity of the regulator when not in use, yet when switched from the pre-dive to dive position the regulators performance will increase. XS2/AC2 is the least expensive regulator in the Cressi range. The XS2 2nd stage comes with the traditional Cressi AC2 piston 1st stage.

Constantly reviewed over the years, this regulator has lots of admirers in the world due to the fact that it is extremely simple and strong, features that make it easy to use and result in low-cost maintenance. 2nd stage XS2 The body of the 2nd stage is traditionally sized, made from hi-tech polymers and with a lateral valve downstream system with adjustable orifice, simple and extremely reliable.

A flow of pilot air is channeled to the mouthpiece by injection, enhancing the performance. The 2nd stage comes with a flow deviator that acts on the Venturi effect, with dive/pre-dive function.
