Snorkeling - Philippines is the best in all Asia.
Yes we know that is a bold claim to make, so let us tell you about our El Galleon resort in Puerto Galera and why we believe this is true.
It was established over twenty years ago well before the world realized what treasures we have here for a family holiday.
The water temperature around the Philipines is a constant 25C - 27C all year round.
We are situated bang in the middle of a fish resort created by the Philippine government as soon as they realized what a unique place this truly is.
We actually have more varieties of coral than can be found in the Great Barrier Reef and more varieties of fish than the Red Sea.
Snorkeling almost anywhere in the Philippines is good but what makes this so good to snorkel are the Coral Gardens covering many acres but with a depth such that it would be almost impossible to get into trouble. Most of the marine life is at a depth between one and two meters, making it very safe for children to enjoy.
You can also learn to dive at our resort if you fancy extending your abilities and we run courses for children as young as eight.
You can learn a lot more about our beach resort by clicking the palm tree picture in the right hand column.
A few words of warning for snorkeling the Phillipines.
The sun is a lot stronger than it feels when you are splashing about in the water. Always wear a T shirt and if you are swimming with corals a pair of jeans or trousers is a good idea. Sunscreen creams are fine up to a point and make sure yor legs and arms are well creamed before you begin.
If you intend to snorkel using fins that is fine but if not you might think of wearing a pair of light shoes.
All of which, may at first thought be being a little over protective, but there is a reason why Philippinos are a lovely coffee colour rather than white.
