Seasons
  • We are an all year round dive resort with the sea normally moderate during December to March and calm during April and May, often talked about by the travellers (not divers) as being the best time of year to be here. Water temperature during December to mid or late February 23° to 27°c.
  • From June to November (typhoon season July to August) can be and often is some of our best diving conditions. We do get rain (sometimes) during these months, however its normally at night either early evening or early morning leaving the days to be fine and mostly sunny with sea condition being excellent. The visibility is often at its best during this part of the year, however its not called typhoon season for nothing. There is always the risk of having a typhoon pass by and leaving behind it a day or two of rain and coursing some swells. Its rare that a typhoon would pass through Puerto Galera and in the past years we had one in 1996 and the next two where 2006, May and December! None since then as of this righting that have affected Puerto Galera. Weather temperatures, mid to late February to November 28°c to 30°c
  • For accommodation at Christmas, Chinese New Year and Easter, book well in advance.

Its consists of a 2-2 hour air conditioned car or van journey from Manila to Leah Beach, followed by an hours boat ride directly to El Galleon Pier. Total journey time usually 3 / 3 ½ hours.

"We strongly recommend that you have read through the directions carefully and PRINT THEM OUT to bring with you - even if you have done the journey before - we are constantly trying to update and improve the service we provide."

[In the unlikely event that weather prevents the boat from crossing to pick you up the car will take you to the Alpha Hotel' in Batangas where we'll contact you to arrange the boat ASAP]

    • When you reach the bottom you will be at another access road in front of you. There are barriers in place, behind which you will see lots of people waiting for friends and relatives. There is a pedestrian walkway that is located in the middle of the waiting area.
    • Cross the road and enter through the gate in the middle of the waiting area. One of our drivers will meet you wearing an Asia Divers white T-shirt and carrying an Asia Divers ‘transfer sign’ with your name.
